Description
The Event Specialist Nicotine Dependence Center works independently to plan and execute educational programs offered through the Nicotine Dependence Center in alignment with institutional and departmental goals and objectives. Scope of work involves both internal and external events as well as online / digital platforms. Responsibilities include all aspects of event facilitation and on-site delivery spanning from initial development to event closure and evaluation. Job duties may include curriculum development budget management and contract negotiation marketing strategy customer service facilitation of training event communications and other pre or post event responsibilities as required.
Operationally responsible for certification processes and procedures and overseeing database development and maintenance. Negotiates and signs all course-related contracts. This position requires the flexibility to travel and work weekends and evenings when necessary.

Qualifications
Minimum of five years experience in education event management office management or project management.
A Bachelors degree in Business Communications Marketing Event Management or a related field and one year of experience in event management.
Additional Qualifications
Candidate must be tobacco-free a minimum of six months.
Understanding of project management is beneficial. Must be able to travel to execute events and marketing at conference exhibits. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) strong organizational skill and self-initiative. Experience in data collection organization analysis and delivery of information preferred. Must be highly organized able to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneous work independently as well as in a team and exercise good judgment. Performs duties independently and initiates judgment in handling a variety of programmatic issues.
