Registered Nurse – Cardiology Clinic

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and patient-centered Cardiology Clinic RN to provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with cardiac conditions in an outpatient setting. The RN will support cardiologists and advanced practice providers, coordinate patient care, perform clinical assessments, and deliver education to promote cardiac wellness and disease management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments including vital signs, cardiac history, symptoms, and medication review.
  • Assist providers during cardiac-related exams, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Conduct phone triage, respond to patient inquiries, and provide clinical guidance based on established protocols.
  • Prepare patients for stress tests, EKGs, echocardiograms, and other cardiology diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as ordered.
  • Educate patients on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Review diagnostic results and notify patients per provider direction.
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and care transitions with hospitals or specialists.
  • Document all care, assessments, and communications in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Monitor and manage patients with chronic cardiac conditions such as CHF, arrhythmias, CAD, hypertension, and post-procedural follow-up.
  • Support cardiologists with clinic flow, ensuring efficient patient movement and quality care delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with clinic protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.

    • Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (state-specific).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience; cardiology or acute care experience preferred.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred depending on clinic setting.
  • Strong assessment, triage, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience with EKGs, telemetry, or cardiac monitoring strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
