Job Summary
The Consulting Dietitian is responsible for providing nutrition care and support to patients on an as-needed basis. This role ensures each patient's nutritional needs are met while maintaining accurate and thorough documentation related to their nutritional status. The Consulting Dietitian plans, implements, and evaluates nutrition care activities in alignment with Aramark standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. This position also collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Nutrition Care
Conduct nutrition assessments for assigned patient populations.
Develop and implement individualized nutrition intervention plans using the Nutrition Care Process.
Provide appropriate follow-ups in alignment with treatment goals and refer patients to outpatient, community, or home health services when needed.
Document all aspects of nutrition care-including assessment, diagnosis, plan, implementation, and progress-in the patient's medical record.
Maintain clinical productivity standards and ensure accurate daily record-keeping, including documentation for scheduling and billing.
Demonstrate accountability in the safe and appropriate use of protected health information.
Patient Education & Support
Assess patient educational needs and identify any barriers to learning.
Provide individualized and group nutrition counseling while adapting teaching methods to support diverse learning styles, age groups, cultural, religious, and ethnic considerations.
Evaluate the patient's or family's understanding of nutrition recommendations and learning objectives.
Conduct patient rounding to support satisfaction and engagement.
Collaboration & Compliance
Work collaboratively with medical staff, nursing teams, and food & nutrition services to ensure alignment with nutrition care orders.
Ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards through ongoing staff education.
Execute department and organizational operational standards, monitor performance, and implement action plans to ensure high-quality nutrition care and meal service.
