Lab Assistant, Nights

Description : Piedmont Eastside Shift : Mon-Thurs 8PM-6 : 30 AM PEM laboratory is dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic services to support patient care at our North and South Campus. PEM laboratory is equipped with advanced technology in every department within the lab such as hematology, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, microbiology, and pathology services. The laboratory is staffed by a multi-cultural team of highly skilled professionals like Pathologist, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Histologist, Laboratory Tech Assistant and Laboratory Assistant. PEM lab is designed to handle the needs of a busy hospital environment, ensuring timely and accurate results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment for outpatient and inpatient care. With a focus on quality control and patient safety, PEM laboratory supports the hospital's commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare. RESPONSIBLE FOR : Performs venipunctures, and obtains / prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Qualifications : MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED : High School graduate or GED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Entry Level MINIMUM LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW : None ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : One (1) year of experience as a phlebotomist preferred Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred. Basic knowledge of venipuncture / phlebotomy is preferred. Experience working in a hospital preferred.
