Operations Supervisor
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will oversee inbound or outbound operations in a 24 / 7, 770,000-square-foot facility. The role involves ensuring flawless execution of area processes in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintaining accountability for key process outputs related to safety, quality, and performance. Responsibilities include overseeing order fulfillment, replenishment, shipping, receiving, and daily operations with a focus on achieving operational excellence.
Oversee the receiving and shipping operations to ensure products are efficiently unloaded, received, stored, selected, and loaded.
Communicate and reinforce company policies and procedures (such as Preferred Work Methods and Best Business Practices) to ensure employees are properly trained in safety, job knowledge, and achieving performance standards.
Develop schedules to cover vacations, holidays, and other shift absences while coordinating necessary staffing to handle all warehousing activities.
Monitor workflow and productivity by balancing employees across work areas to ensure smooth operations, using the labor management system to track productivity and volume.
Evaluate employee performance through ongoing performance reviews, providing coaching to set expectations, rewarding exceptional performance, and guiding employees to achieve high performance.
Minimize overtime through effective use of the Daily Planning Tool spreadsheet.
Collaborate with the Transportation department to optimize the efficiency of receiving and shipping processes.
Work with Inventory Control and Operations Systems to ensure product integrity is upheld, with proper storage and rotation practices in place.
Complete employee performance reviews in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner.
Collaborate with Inventory Control to reduce warehouse shrink (product loss).
Maintain the warehouse by ensuring its appearance, upkeep, and security, including the proper maintenance of equipment.
Adhere to and enforce all safety regulations to eliminate accidents and injuries, while actively supporting safety initiatives and addressing safety concerns in collaboration with the safety department.
Ensure proper use of warehouse computers and RF equipment in a safe and professional manner.
Comply with all company policies (e.g., attendance policies, Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, etc.) and encourage compliance among team members.
Ensure adherence to all state and federal laws, regulations, and policies, including OSHA, HACCP, and AIB standards.
Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as needed or assigned.
5+ years of experience in warehouse and inventory operations.
Strong mathematical and logistical skills.
Excellent leadership abilities, including mentoring, training, and providing constructive feedback.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare presentation materials and deliver information in both one-on-one and group settings.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Proven analytical and organizational capabilities.
Familiarity with computer ordering systems and other IT platforms.
Fluent in English, with additional language skills considered an advantage.
This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
