About the Role :Vice President, Global CompensationWiley | Hoboken, NJAbout the RoleWiley is seeking an experienced compensation leader to join our People Organization as Vice President of Global Compensation.This critical role will lead our global compensation strategy, sales incentive design, and global mobility programs while driving strategic initiatives that directly impact our 5,000 colleagues worldwide.
Reporting to the SVP, Rewards, People Tech and Insights, you will oversee a team of compensation professionals and partner closely with business leaders across our $1.6B global organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDesign and implement global compensation strategies that align with Wiley's business objectives and rewards philosophy, and support talent acquisition, retention, and engagementLead the development and execution of sales incentive plans, ensuring timely design, approval, and rollout with full colleague understanding and acknowledgmentOversee global mobility programs to support our international workforcePartner with People Organization leadership to ensure alignment across HR initiatives and drive organizational effectivenessCompensation Program ManagementDirect the annual compensation planning cycle including merit increases, incentive programs, and equity compensationLead pay equity analyses and ensure competitive, fair compensation practices across all markets ensuring compliance with local requirementsDevelop job architecture frameworks and leveling structuresCreate competitive offer strategies and guidelines to support talent acquisition effortsOversee rewards governance, ensuring proper controls and compliance with global regulationsSales Compensation ExcellenceOversee the design and management of sales incentive plans across multiple business unitsDevelop compensation dashboards and analytics to track sales compensation key performance indicatorsEnsure sales compensation strategies drive desired behaviors and business outcomesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentBuild, develop, and lead a high-performing global compensation teamSet clear goals and performance expectations while providing ongoing coachingDevelop talent pipeline and succession planning for key roles within the functionFoster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellenceDrive employee engagement and create an inclusive team environmentManage team resources effectively to deliver on strategic priorities and operational commitmentsRequired Qualifications12+ years of progressive compensation experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership rolesProven expertise in global compensation design and sales incentive planningExperience managing global mobility programs and international compensation structuresStrong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and ExcelDemonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholdersExcellence in executive communication and presentation skillsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree or relevant certifications (CCP, GRP) preferredPreferred QualificationsExecutive Compensation experience in a publicly traded companyKnowledge of job architecture and career framework developmentExperience with tools like Syndio, Everstage, or similar compensation platformsExperience in publishing, education technology, or professional services industriesLeadership CompetenciesStrategic thinking with the ability to translate business needs into compensation solutionsExceptional organizational and planning skills with disciplined approach to prioritiesCollaborative leadership style that builds strong partnerships across the organizationCalm demeanor and thoughtful approach to problem-solvingCommitment to developing team capabilities and succession planningAbout Wiley :Wiley is a trusted leader in research and learning, our pioneering solutions and services are paving the way for knowledge seekers as they work to solve the world's most important challenges.We are advocates of advancement, empowering knowledge-seekers to transform today's biggest obstacles into tomorrow's brightest opportunities.

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
