Laboratory Animal Care Technician I

Essential Responsibilities

• Animal Care

o Bedding and cage changes

o Animal health checks

o Equipment sanitization

o Waste disposal (including hazardous waste)

o Monitor environment of animal facility

o Record animal care and animal facility / room information

o Filter Changing

o Room Sanitization

Additional Responsibilities

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

o H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred

o 0-1 years

o Operation of routine animal care equipment (e.g., rack washer, mouse cages, and water bottles)

Certifications :

o AALAS certification at ALAT level preferred
