Position Summary
A Human Resources Generalist is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HR carries out responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas : operational development, HRIS and analytics, employee engagement & retention, training and development, compensation, benefit administration, compliance reporting, and employment law.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Partner with Managing Director, operations, and hourly personnel to motivate the workforce and build a positive and thriving team environment.
- Conducts meetings with Directors and Manager.
- Ensures the administration of all Human Resources policies and programs.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the Managing Director to develop solutions, programs, and scorecards / dashboards.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance, escalating matters of complex and / or sensitive matters to appropriate HR leadership.
- Participates in day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of HR training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Supports Shared Service in the processing and administration of payroll.
- Maintains and updates employee data in ADP, ensuring the integrity of data.
- Handles quarterly wage reporting to Workers Compensation carrier.
- Supports HSE in monthly reporting of hours worked used to calculated TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate)
- Handles employment related inquiries from employees, and supervisors.
- Partners with hiring managers to recruit for salary and hourly personnel positions, ensuring compliance with our Affirmative Action Program
- Implements new hire processes, prepares new hire materials, and manages onboarding new employees.
- Handles the termination and offboarding of employees.
- Processes and administers employee leave FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Leave, and PLOA, including working with Industrial Medical clinic on RTW.
- Supports Accounting in annual financial audit requests.
- Support in the facilitation of open enrollment and conduct post-open enrollment audits.
- Identifies areas of process improvement and implements changes within confines of responsibilities.
- Collaborates with Events committee to plan and coordinate employee engagement events.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
Bachelors degree in human resources or Business-related field is preferred.Three (3) years of demonstrated human resource experience.Required Skills / Abilities :
Excellent verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills.Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organizations hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Knowledge of and experience with various human resource information and payroll systems preferably ADP.Immigration and Visa process oversight.Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
