Responsibilities :
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to join our client's team. This individual will be responsible for inspecting, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical and minor electrical or instrumentation issues. The role involves fabricating, installing, adjusting, repairing, and replacing parts, as well as dismantling and rebuilding equipment and instruments in accordance with schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Operate and maintain a variety of maintenance equipment, including arc and TIG welders, acetylene torch, lathe, pipe threader, drill press, and various power and hand tools.
- Safely utilize and inspect forklifts, scissor lifts, drum handlers, and pallet jacks.
- Inspect, identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical and pneumatic issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Install, maintain, adjust, dismantle, and rebuild control systems according to schematics and work instructions.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to OSHA regulations, Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Confined Space Entry protocols, Hot Work Permits, and Class 1 Div. 2 hazardous area precautions.
- Consistently use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all established safety policies.
- Perform tests, collect data, and maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in logs and computer databases.
- Order replacement parts and manage inventory to support efficient maintenance operations.
- Apply strong mechanical knowledge and basic understanding of manufacturing processes, material characteristics, and instrumentation.
- Comply with Food Safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain sanitation and product integrity standards.
- Attend safety meetings and promptly report any emergency or unsafe conditions.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and schedules as needed.
Location : Dolton, IL
Schedule / Shift Details :
This role will work 2nd Shift, plus cover a weekend on-call shift once per month.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, climb, push, pull, lift, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.Requires the ability to reach above and below shoulder level.Must be able to communicate verbally, hear, and see effectively to perform job duties safely and accurately.Ability to exert :Up to 100 pounds of force occasionally,Up to 50 pounds of force frequently, andUp to 20 pounds of force constantly to move or lift objects.Minimum Qualifications :
