Department Overview :

We are looking for a proactive RN First Assist to join our General Surgery team! The position entails a mix of clinic and operating room duties scheduled throughout the week, Monday to Friday, with the added responsibility of on-call rotation.

Role Responsibilities :

• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Deliver intra-operative support including homeostasis, exposure, and closure.
• Collaborate with surgical teams post-operation to round on patient recovery.
• Develop and implement specialized preoperative plans in partnership with surgeons and healthcare team members.
• Ensure surgical tools and equipment are prepared and managed according to safety protocols.
• Administer preoperative medications under the guidance of the attending provider, monitoring and reporting patient responses.
• Practice comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with inter-professional colleagues.
• Maintain competency in nursing practices and uphold ethical standards in healthcare delivery.
