Additional Information About the Role Onsite position! (Must live in the metro St. Louis area) BJC is hiring for a Call Center Interpreter. This person will be taking calls and scheduling interpreters. The ideal candidate will have customer service/call center experience and bi-lingual. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Interprets for non/limited English-speaking patients and English speaking health care providers in BJH, Children's Hospital and Washington University Medical Center health care environments. Promotes effective care of non-English speaking patients through cultural and linguistic bridging.Performs all or most of the following job duties: answering the telephones; scheduling patient appointments; interpreter deployment; registering patients in the computer; checking patients out; scheduling follow up visit if needed. May also be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer, as well as billing of hospital/interpreter service charges. Responsibilities Assists with operations of unit services and integration with other departments. Provides direct interpretation and establishes a communication link between limited English proficient (LEP) patients, families and English speaking healthcare providers. Answers and directs all inquiries from patients, visitors, physicians and staff to appropriate locations using an online database and printed directories. Provides clerical duties, organizes and maintains records. Ensures customers receive exceptional service through consistent performance, answering, directing and paging according to the customers request.
