Associate Director of Outreach
UCLA's Economics Department has two interlocking objectives. We conduct cutting edge research by developing new methodologies and applying them to understand society's most critical issues. We also seek to train the next generation of economic leaders in the private sector, government and academia. The Master of Quantitative Economics (MQE) is an innovative graduate degree program designed to equip students with the quantitative and analytical skills necessary to solve complex challenges in todays business and policy environments. The Associate Director of Outreach plays a key role in advancing the visibility, reach, and impact of the MQE program through strategic engagement with employers, prospective students, universities and community organizations.
This position advances the strategic needs of the MQE by building strong industry partnerships, creating meaningful recruitment pipelines, and connecting students to internship and career opportunities. The Associate Director will independently develop and manage mutually beneficial relationships with employers, alumni, and industry leaders to identify job and internship opportunities, organize targeted career events, and strengthen the programs reputation as a source of high-quality quantitative talent. In addition, the Associate Director will organize and implement outreach and recruitment initiatives to attract and engage prospective students, working closely with MQE team members to increase awareness of the program through events, marketing, and partnerships. The incumbent will also engage with prospective students to provide information about the program, answer questions, and offer campus tours when needed. The Associate Director will advance outreach and marketing strategies that enhance MQEs visibility among both employers and potential applicants, contributing to the programs continued growth and success. This role requires creativity, strategic communication, and the ability to cultivate relationships across academic, corporate, and community settings.
