Descripción del trabajo
Description:
  • Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Behavior Technicians (BTs) implement evidence-based behavior intervention methods specific to each child's treatment plan. A Behavior Therapist works 1:1 with children/adolescents and teaches skills through play-based activities.
  • ABA therapy aims to replace target behaviors (such as tantrums, aggression, noncompliance, and self-injurious behaviors) with socially significant behaviors (i.e., speech and language development, play skills, compliance, self-care, and increased independence).

Are you new to ABA?
ABA is a systematic approach in which clinical team members utilize their understanding of how behavior works, how it is affected by the environment, and how learning occurs. Learn more about the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and why its evidence-based practices are beneficial for children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities. We provide ongoing support and the opportunity to obtain a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst! With the RBT credential, our BTs qualify for a higher pay bracket.

Why join our team?
  • Attendance bonuses.
  • 40-hour new hire training.
  • 1:1 weekly support from BT Trainer.
  • Monthly BT training.
  • Learn with a Behavior Skills Training approach.
  • Teamwork approach to services.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
  • Cell phone reimbursement.
  • Room for career advancement and professional growth.

What skills will you develop?
  • Behavior functions and behavior modification.
  • Reinforcement procedures.
  • Defining behavior in measurable terms.
  • Understanding components of a BIP.
  • Implementation of scientific-based intervention methods.
  • Teaching strategies.
  • Consultation skills.
  • HIPAA understanding and compliance.
  • Professionalism and ethical behavior.
  • Electronic data collection.
  • Microsoft Office 365 and Excel

Who should apply?
  • Ideal candidates are energetic, patient, and empathetic, and possess strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Candidates enjoy working with children by engaging in play and social interaction and are passionate about helping the developmental disabilities population.
  • Candidates who seek a rewarding experience that produces socially significant changes and improves the overall quality of life of the children we serve.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Report to Clinical Supervisor (BCBA assigned to client's case).
  • Work 1:1 with the client.
  • Utilize strategies in applied behavior analysis as appropriate to the client's behavior intervention plan.

  • Notify the clinical team of newly observed target behaviors.
  • Document significant behavior changes accordingly.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors exhibited by the client.
  • Perform data collection consistently when implementing strategies.
  • Monitor the client's progression according to the goals outlined in a behavior intervention plan.
  • Actively communicate session cancellations with the Scheduler and coordinate makeup sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Check the PBS Outlook email account regularly and respond promptly.
  • Participate in required team meetings.
  • Complete mandatory and ongoing (paid) training.
  • Additional responsibilities to accommodate the client's needs as assigned by the Supervisor.
