Salary : $16.50-$20 / hour +tips

Love wine? Love people? Canopy Wine Lounge in Palm Springs is looking for part-time servers to bring exceptional and unforgettable experiences to our guests.

Job Summary :

This position contributes to Canopy Wine Lounges success by serving our guests in a personable, courteous, and professional manner. The server must see that the highest quality standards are met for guest service and must also work within the framework of a quality food and beverage service team.

General Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Demonstrate, every day, our core values of connection, curiosity, integrity, excellence, and teamwork.
  • Arrive to work on time and consistently follow the shift schedule.
  • Attend all scheduled team meetings and training sessions, arriving on time and engagedopen to learning and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and regulatory protocols, including emergency procedures, health department standards, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Maintain a respectful and professional atmosphere by speaking and acting in ways that foster trust, clarity, and harmony with guests, coworkers, and leadership.
  • Be flexible and open to performing additional tasks or duties as needed to support the team and enhance the guest experience.
  • Be familiar with and follow all safety protocol including emergency, COVID, health department / food safety, and alcohol awareness.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Be thoroughly familiar with all standards of proper service etiquette and adhere to these standards throughout guest service
  • It is each servers responsibility to greet guests as they enter the restaurant
  • Suggest and promote food and drinks served, as food and drink sales are an important part of the position
  • Be aware of all state liquor laws as well as company and departmental policies regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Must have completed a RBS course
  • Valid Food Handlers certificate at all times
  • Know all available spirited beverages, NA Beverages, beers, and wines by the glass or bottle. Also, be familiar and comfortable discussing regions, styles, and varietals of wines offered
  • Knowledgeable about all menus and hours of operation
  • Be familiar with emergency safety measures
  • Maintain and ensure each table is clean and presentable for every guest
  • Take food and beverage orders; ensure placement of order and accurate and timely delivery
  • Work special group functions as required
  • Follow the steps of service as outlined for your position
  • Complete opening / closing duties

  • Uniform Requirements :

No work out / gym clothes are permitted including leggings or athletic shorts. All clothing items must be in good condition faded, torn, frayed, or showing any signs of distress are not acceptable.   • Education and Experience :

  • At least two years related experience preferred.
  • Language Skills :

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as e-mail communication, instant message communications, legal documents, license agreements, contracts, invoices, news articles, technical manuals, budgets, ledgers, purchase orders, financial, marketing, Inventory, shipping, and various reports. Ability to effectively present information, provide instructions and thoroughly answer questions in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English.

    Reasoning Ability and Computer Skills :

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to efficiently use inventory, ordering & computer systems or applications and Microsoft Office programs.

    Physical Demands :

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
