Postdoctoral Associate | Cell and Molecular Biology

The is seeking an independent, highly motivated PhD-level scientist to join our trans-continental collaborative group funded by the Human Frontiers Science Program (HFSP). The overarching goal of this project is to leverage human pluripotent stem cell technology and advanced structural biology methods to define mechanisms and rules of sarcomere assembly and function. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in cell and molecular biology particularly in stem cell differentiation, advanced imaging and protein-protein interaction studies. As part of the group, this talented individual would have access to a world-class consortium of scientists across pluripotent stem cell biology, 3-dimensional organoids/microtissue assays, super resolution microscopy, and structural biology.
The Hinson lab at the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine and UConn Health utilizes pluripotent stem cell biology, tissue engineering, genome editing, and multi-omics assays to study mechanisms of inherited heart failure and other muscle disorders.
