The Junior Account Manager reports to the Business Unit Manager and is responsible for supporting the Account Manager's responsibilities with the expectation that the Junior Account Manager will become proficient and be promoted to the role of Account Manager or similar. The Junior Account Manager is responsible for assisting the Account Manager in the development, promotion, sales, and profitability of a customer's product line of diesel engines and/or engine components. This position will assist in the development of the annual strategic plan along with sales and gross margin dollar goals. Building strong customer relationships, including knowing them on a first name basis is key for this position. In addition, this position is accountable to provide input on promotions, pricing levels, and new product development and must develop the competitor knowledge base covering their product offerings, pricing, strengths, and weaknesses.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting the sales and gross margin dollar goals as outlined in the strategic plan.
  • Participate in the budget and planning process projecting sales and gross margin dollar expectations for the assigned territory.
  • Promote Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. and the entire team by keeping customers aware of current products and services.
  • Assist in the development of strategic and actionable plans to achieve sales and gross margin dollar goals.
  • Drive the growth of the customer base in terms of sales and gross margin dollars by developing new customers, selling new products, or covering new geographic areas.
  • Make planned, professional sales calls on current and potential customers within the assigned area on a timely schedule.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up on concerns and opportunities presented by the customer.
  • Grow personal relationships with all customers within the assigned area.
  • Assist in the training for our customers.
  • Be able to demonstrate to customers how the products work while at the same time understanding the capabilities and limits of the products.
  • Using professional skills to determine the customers' needs and match our product offering to that need.
  • Work with the Demand Analyst to ensure that all information is available to make good marketing decisions and professional sales presentations.
  • Inform the Engineering Department of new developments in the market.
  • Communicate with the Production Department on a regular basis to ensure they understand the customer requirements and orders in process.
  • Keep all customers up-to-date on programs, promotions and schedules in order to support the “under promise, over deliver” philosophy.
  • Take charge of presenting the company as a Team committed to ensuring all customers' needs are met with a very competitive price and service program

Key Qualifications

  • Ability to plan work and achieve stated goals is critical to success.
  • Must be able to make judgments and decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to move projects to completion.
  • Excellent customer service focus with an understanding of cost of service.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, detail orientation and ability to multi-task
  • 10 – 30% travel to customers as required.
