Mission or Goal of Unit :   The mission of the Internal Medicine Department, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine is to provide superior, compassionate, and innovative clinical care to our patients using state-of-the-art knowledge and resources and to conduct and disseminate clinical, research and scholarship, with a focus on the care of patients and education of future clinicians.

Chief Purpose of this position :   The chief purpose of this recruitment is to hire a qualified pulmonary and critical care physician interested in supporting the lung transplant program, while expanding critical care and general pulmonology coverage.

Position Responsibilities :

Teaching

The successful candidate would be expected to be active within the greater residency program, becoming active in the recruitment, education, and advisory of DOIM residents :

• Provide teaching service to learners, including medical students, interns and residents
• Use contemporary adult learning methods to promote evidence-based practice
• Demonstrate effective teaching skills and continually develop as a teacher for learners at all levels
• Complete required evaluations of learners in a timely manner – including but not limited to

written and verbal feedback

core conference, and other formal educational programs for undergraduate and post-graduate

learners

Primary clinical responsibilities will be to provide exemplary care in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, to include support of the lung transplant program, while expanding critical care and general pulmonology coverage.
