Position Summary
The Digital Content Specialist is a strategic, high-impact role focused on amplifying Mecklenburg County’s digital presence through expert content creation, advanced digital marketing, and website optimization. As a key member of our Public Information Department, you’ll shape compelling digital narratives, enhance user experiences, and spearhead innovative marketing initiatives by leading collaborative content strategies, executing integrated campaigns with cross-functional teams, and ensuring WCAG-compliant accessible content to maximize impact for our diverse community. Salary Range : $69,389.00 - $104,083.00
Essential Functions
Create and Optimize Content : Produce and refine high-quality, SEO-optimized content (e.g., blog posts, landing pages, multimedia) that aligns with brand voice and strategic goals.
Manage Website Content : Oversee content on Mecklenburg County’s website using Drupal CMS (or similar platforms like WordPress / SharePoint), ensuring functionality, exceptional user experience (UX), and compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
Develop Content Strategy : Build and execute a content calendar to deliver timely, impactful content across digital channels in collaboration with marketing and communications teams.
Lead Digital Campaigns : Drive traffic, engagement, and conversions through integrated digital marketing campaigns (e.g., SEO, PPC, email, social media) using platforms like Google Ads and Meta Ads.
Enhance SEO Performance : Conduct advanced keyword research and implement on-page SEO strategies to improve search engine rankings.
Analyze and Optimize : Use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to analyze website and campaign performance, collaborating with teams to deliver actionable insights and optimize KPIs (e.g., traffic, engagement, conversions).
Collaborate Cross-Functionally : Partner closely with design, IT, and marketing teams to ensure seamless campaign execution, website enhancements, and accessibility compliance.
Streamline Operations : Optimize content workflows, troubleshoot minor website issues, and coordinate with technical support as needed.
Improve UX and Performance : Identify opportunities to enhance UX and website performance using analytics and industry best practices, prioritizing accessibility for all users.
Ensure Accessibility : Maintain user-friendly, up-to-date webpages optimized for performance and accessibility.
