Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated, customer service - oriented Inspector with experience in fire alarm systems. The ideal Inspector will be organized, professional, and a good communicator. This important position will establish a rapport and build positive relationships with our customers.\nPosition is located out of our Austin, TX office.\nResponsibilities include : \n\nResponsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Mechanical, or Fire Suppression, Fire Detection and life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ product lines.\nWork with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.\nComplete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as a tablet.\nFollow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.\nInput, retrieve and archive inspection documents via tablet.\nMake minor repairs and programming changes with minimal supervision.\nProvide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.\nComplete assigned inspections on time.\n\nQualifications include, but are not limited to : \n\nMinimum 3 years Fire Alarm servicing and / or inspection experience required.\nActive licensing and certification require by National, Texas, and local codes for the level of Inspector.\nExperience in low voltage electrical systems.\nFire and / or Life Safety Systems experience.\nExperience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational / product manuals.\nExperience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.\nDemonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.\nAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.\nProficiency with using PCs including working knowledge of MS Excel / Word as well as iPhone / iPad apps.\nOccasional local, regional and overnight travel required.
\nDemonstrate a high level of customer service.\nStrong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.\nStrong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
