About the Role (Summary of project)
Gentis Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Test Technician for a 6-month onsite engagement in Westborough, MA . This is a hands-on role supporting an engineer in developing a manufacturing test process for a mechatronics system that inducts and labels packages. The system includes control panels, conveyor systems, printers, dimensioners, weigh scales, delta robot labelers, and vision systems .
The technician will assist in creating, assembling, and integrating test solutions that will ultimately be transferred to a contract manufacturer. This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical wiring proficiency, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow technical direction with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do (Job Description) :
- Support the engineer in developing a manufacturing test process for a complex mechatronics product.
- Perform electrical wiring, routing, terminations, and connection work .
- Assist in the assembly and installation of test systems, fixtures, and environments .
- Troubleshoot and debug electrical systems, control panels, and I / O components.
- Execute test plans and procedures , following all SOPs for system startup and operation.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, build documentation, and BOM requirements .
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Conduct local travel to suppliers and vendors for acceptance testing of custom panels or components.
- Support packaging and shipping preparation for test equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation , test results, notes, and build records.
- Work independently to translate engineer direction into concrete deliverables.
- Assist with quality control and system validation activities.
What We’re Looking For (Must Haves) :
Proficiency in electrical wiring, routing, and connections .Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation .Experience with troubleshooting and debugging electrical systems .Basic mechanical aptitude, including assembly and installation of test systems.Experience creating BOMs from documentation.Strong attention to detail and documentation abilities.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions independently.Comfort with hands-on technical work .Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to vendor sites.Knowledge of quality control and testing procedures.Preferred (Nice-to-Have Skills) :
Technical degree or certification in electronics or mechanical technology .2+ years of experience in a similar technician or test engineering support role.Experience working with industrial automation , PLC / IO systems, or robotics.Familiarity with packaging, labeling, or mechatronics equipment.
