Job Description

The Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities for youth, promoting healthy leisure, social skills, and growth.

• Develops and delivers programs including arts, sports, drama, and community trips aligned with treatment goals.
• Supervises facilities to ensure safety and performs maintenance tasks.
• Assists youth through role modeling, skill development, and positive engagement.
• Documents progress, participates in treatment team meetings, and supports special events.
• Supervises recreational activities for up to three youth and completes reports.
• Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree, youth recreation experience, CPR certification, and a valid NYS driver’s license.
• Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills are essential.
