Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)

Unit : Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

Assignment Type : Travel RN contract

Start Date : November 24, 2025

End Date : February 23, 2026

Duration : 13-week travel nursing assignment

Hours per Week : 36

Shift : 12-hour nights (6 : 45 PM – 7 : 15 AM), alternating weekends

Unit Size : 16 beds

Patient Ratios : 2 : 1 or 1 : 1 (occasionally 3 : 1 based on acuity)

Uniform : All Navy or Navy and White scrubs

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1630 - $1750

ICU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience

Proficient in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, paralytics, ventilator management, tracheostomy care, and telemetry interpretation

Strong understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup / interpretation

Experience with transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and chest tube care

Familiarity with Cerner EMR documentation preferred

CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience valued (not required)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to CICU patients

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic parameters

Administer and titrate critical care medications, including pressors and sedatives

Operate and manage advanced equipment : ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, and Impella devices

Assist with procedures : cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis

Accurately document patient care in Cerner EMR

Float to other critical care units as needed

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
