Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare position is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) with school nursing experience to support student health services in a school setting. This part-time contract role is based in Washington Navy Yard, DC, and offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of students during the summer months.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide nursing care and health assessments to students within a school environment
  • Manage various student caseloads from early childhood through 8th grade
  • Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and families to support student health plans
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with school policies and healthcare regulations
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed

Qualifications :

  • Valid Connecticut RN license is required
  • Experience working as a school nurse preferred, especially involving special education students
  • Ability to work 20-25 hours per week over the summer with potential for extension
  • Strong munication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
