Job Title : Accounts Receivable / Financial Aid Specialist (Contract)

Location : Walnut, CA

Duration : 8 months (Contract); M-F

Compensation : $30 – $35 per hour, based on experience

Must have advanced excel skills - pivot tables / vlookups / sum formulas

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable / Financial Aid Specialist (Contract) to support student financial services and cashiering functions. This role plays a key part in managing student accounts, processing payments, coordinating with financial aid, and delivering excellent service to students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Student Account Management

Analyze and maintain student financial accounts.

Assist with financial aid refund processing.

Clear students during registration and maintain student files.

Cashiering & Payment Processing

Collect and record payments for tuition, fees, and auxiliary services.

Prepare and record daily bank deposits.

Post revenue and transactions into accounting systems (e.g., Workday).

Accounts Receivable (AR)

Manage student payment plans and collections.

Generate and analyze financial reports.

Support third-party billing and installment plans.

Financial Aid Coordination

Partner with the Financial Aid Office to ensure timely disbursement of aid.

Address student financial challenges and resolve account discrepancies.

Serve as an internal auditor for financial aid processes and reconciliations.

Customer Service

Provide in-person, phone, and electronic support to students, staff, and external agencies.

Foster positive collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

Prior experience working in a school, government agency, or nonprofit organization is required.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Experience with accounting systems (Workday experience a plus).

Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Pay Details : $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
