American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Float Pool position requiring night shifts, an active OK or compact RN license, and current AHA certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Pediatric Float Pool of a hospital setting
  • Cares for a range of pediatric patients from simple to complex medical needs
  • Night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage required
  • Assigned to three 12-hour shifts per week
  • No local candidates within 50 miles will be considered
  • Responsible for delivering competent care to pediatric patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintains thorough documentation of patient responses, physician orders, and interventions
  • Acts as a liaison with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge teaching
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff
  • Assignment is limited to a maximum of 26 weeks, with a six-month separation required before reapplying

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a multistate compact state (eNLC)
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Ability to perform and document patient assessments, administer IVs and medications, and assist with procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs
