Job Summary
- The Snow Truck Driver is responsible for performing all tasks related to snow removal. This on-call position requires availability for shifts ranging from 6 to 12 hours, often scheduled overnight depending on the snow event. Extended hours may be required during major storm events. The snow removal season begins with the first snowfall.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Operate a variety of snow removal equipment, including pow and box trucks, ATVs with plows, snow blowers, shovels, and e-pokes (salt spreaders), to ensure safe and efficient clearing of the designated areas.Work with sidewalk crews to complete snow removal assignments safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.Education and Experience :
3 years of commercial experience using a plow truck or salt truck.3+ years of commercial snow experience using Skid-Steer, Front End Loader, Backhoe, or equivalent vehicles with plows and snow containment boxes.18 years of age or olderA valid and clean driver's license with no restrictions (CDL is NOT required)Work well under pressure while observing safety guidelines.Have a smart phone (to download and use our attendance tracker App)Dependable transportation.Attendance at and successful completion of required training, as well as passing a background check are mandatory.Able to lawfully work in the USA.Physical Demands / Requirements :
Be able to lift, push, or carry 50 to 60 pounds without restriction.Be able to work outdoors in freezing and wet weather conditions. Must have proper attire.Work Environment :
Outdoor work environment during the winter snow seasonShifts are on-call and range from 6 to 12 hours and are often overnight depending on the storm event.
