Billing Follow Up Representative

A company is looking for a Billing Follow Up Representative I.

Key Responsibilities

Review accounts and apply billing follow up knowledge for insurance payors to ensure proper reimbursement

Conduct prebilling / billing and follow up on open insurance claims, obtaining necessary documentation

Communicate with internal teams and external customers, acting as a liaison to validate and correct information

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

Typically requires 1 year of related experience in a medical / billing reimbursement environment

Basic keyboarding proficiency and ability to operate relevant software systems

Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) preferred but not required

Ability to read and interpret documents such as explanations of benefits (EOB)
