American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position handling adult and geriatric patients with a GA or compact license and cardiac certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for adults and geriatric patients
  • Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00
  • Average patient ratio is 1 : 5 with 16 beds and average daily census of 16
  • Floating required to other Cardiac Telemetry units or as needed
  • EPIC is the required EMR system for documentation
  • Utilizes equipment and procedures such as telemetry, EKG, doppler, and peritoneal dialysis
  • Weekend requirement is 6 shifts in each 6-week schedule period
  • No call requirement
  • Manage and monitor cardiac adult / geriatric patients with a focus on complex cardiac conditions
  • Adhere to navy blue scrub dress code
  • A maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed; cannot request RTO for the first week or for major holidays unless eligibility criteria met
  • Holiday coverage required based on the number of major holidays falling within the contract; specific RTO policies apply
  • Orientation includes non-billable modules and in-person training
  • Full compliance required prior to start date; delays may result in assignment start date adjustments
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • No blocked scheduling is permitted
  • Travel pairs may not be scheduled for the same shift on the same unit

    • Requirements

  • Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience
  • Experience caring for post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease patients required
  • Experience with peritoneal dialysis and telemetry monitoring required
  • Epic documentation experience required
  • Cannot have worked as perm / PRN in any Piedmont facility within the past year
  • Must provide two supervisory references for consideration
