This position is part of the TSG, consisting of over 80 full-time staff focused on surface transportation projects across multiple states. Currently, TSG is involved in over 200 active projects that encompass a diverse range of local roadways, highways, intersections, interchanges, roundabouts, and active transportation.
In this role, you will :
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams in the planning, design, construction, and permitting of various transportation projects primarily for local agencies and State DOTs, including projects funded by local and federal aid.
- Work alongside traffic engineers, structural engineers, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive reports, studies, and drawings to our clients.
- Utilize CAD software (MicroStation / OpenRoads) to create alignments, models, and plans of transportation projects according to current standards.
- Function within a team, reporting to a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager.
- Analyze engineering data and apply sound engineering judgment to produce final engineering documents, including project plans, construction drawings, technical specifications, feasibility analyses, and preliminary reports.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, including EITs, drafters, and designers.
- Engage in business development by fostering client relationships and assisting with proposal preparation.
- Support project managers in defining and executing scopes of work, contracts, and design budgets for projects.
- Participate in client meetings and public engagements to discuss project details and gather community input.
- Coordinate efforts with utility companies.
- Conduct periodic fieldwork, including construction observations and project reconnaissance.
- Oversee support staff assigned to projects, including drafters, EITs, surveyors, and construction observers.
- Manage client relationships and client projects, ensuring high-quality communications and professional services while delivering exceptional projects.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering.Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), preferably in Utah or able to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.5-10 years of transportation engineering experience.Ability to take small to medium size projects from design initiation to advertisement.Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality deliverables.Experience working collaboratively in team environments.Demonstrated technical expertise and skills.Familiarity with projects involving UDOT is a plus.Salary Range : $92,000-$135,000 per year, based on experience, licensure, and education.
