Reliability Engineering Sr Manager
The Maintenance & Reliability Excellence Manager is responsible for enhancing the equipment reliability programs within the paperboard manufacturing facilities. This role focuses on driving the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) programs and strategies, ensuring the completion of predictive and preventative maintenance, and leading initiatives to improve equipment reliability and productivity. The successful candidate will collaborate with all maintenance and reliability functions to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and performance of all equipment.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Ensure effectiveness of strategies and resources.
- Lead initiatives to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
- Champion the expansion and practice of Precision Maintenance within the division facilities.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify and eliminate root causes of reliability issues.
- Implement reliability improvement projects, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Coach, Teach, and Mentor division maintenance leaders and engineers.
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the maintenance departments.
- Provide input into performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to division maintenance team members.
- Optimize inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Assist in the mill budgeting, capital planning and financial review of plant performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Promote and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Communicate maintenance plans, progress, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and practices.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in maintenance and reliability.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence initiatives.
- Act as a conduit for best practice adoption and translation.
Requirements
Four-year degree Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering preferred or 20 years of compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.Minimum of 10 years of Pulp and Paper maintenance management experience.Demonstrated analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.Ability to excel as an individual contributor and lead in cooperative work teams.Ability to advance technical skills through study and practical application.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Formal training and use of RCFA, RCA, RCM, IR, Oil analysis, Laser Alignment, Electrical studies, Vibration analysis and other Precision Maintenance Techniques and Technologies desired.Working knowledge of Windows, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel; AutoCad is a plus.CMRP - Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional - a plus.Demonstrated knowledge of criticality based maintenance processes to reduce cost and improve equipment reliability.Thorough understanding of SAP or similar CMMS system.Schedule Demands
General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and / or weekends and be punctual while doing so.Must be able to travel 75% - 100% with overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.Physical Demands
