Known for providing passionate, results-driven advocacy throughout Colorado, this is a close-knit, growing team that values collaboration, initiative, and excellence in client service.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the Founding Partners, supporting law enforcement officers and other public employees in federal, state, and local investigations and disciplinary appeals. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation experience, a proactive mindset, and the ability to balance compassion with confident advocacy.

Title : Associate Attorney – FOP & Civil Litigation

  • Familiarity with ICCES, Clio, and LawPay software
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a small-firm environment
  • Strong client service mindset and attention to detail
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal representation to law enforcement officers, sheriffs, deputies, and other public employees in internal affairs investigations, disciplinary hearings, and related legal matters.
  • Handle pleadings, appeals, discovery, and court appearances in support of FOP members and general civil litigation matters.
  • Work with the police union to review and approve claims, following a process similar to insurance defense procedures.
  • Participate in and conduct internal affairs interviews.
  • Maintain consistent client communication, offering empathy and reassurance during high-stress, emotionally charged situations.
  • Rotate on-call duties once per month to respond to critical incidents involving law enforcement officers.

  • Collaborative and Personable : Builds rapport with clients and colleagues; comfortable in a casual, fast-paced office culture.
  • Self-Starter : Proactively identifies needs, asks smart questions, and follows through without constant direction.
  • Dependable and Diligent : Thrives in a “work hard, play hard” environment and takes ownership of results.
  • Authentic and Approachable : Possesses a sense of humor and humility, balancing seriousness about the work with a relaxed demeanor.
  • Culture and Environment

This boutique firm offers a tight-knit, hardworking, and down-to-earth culture. The team cares deeply about delivering excellent work for their clients, often in emotionally charged or high-stakes situations, while keeping the office atmosphere collaborative and light-hearted. A comfort level with candid communication is essential.

This position is ideal for an attorney who stays composed under pressure and finding meaning in advocacy work that directly impacts people’s lives and careers.

    Growth Potential

This role provides hands-on mentorship from two highly respected trial attorneys and exposure to a unique intersection of criminal, employment, and civil litigation. As the firm continues to grow, this position offers the opportunity to expand into broader practice areas or assume greater leadership responsibilities within the FOP group.
