The Role and Team

The Business Applications and Data team plays a pivotal role within our corporate IT structure. We are focused on developing, managing, and enhancing enterprise applications that drive our business operations forward. This team prioritizes engagement with various business lines to adapt and scale solutions efficiently, in addition to shaping an enterprise decision-support system that enhances reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as a strategic advisor to leaders in People & Culture, IT, and Finance, transforming complex business needs into scalable, maintainable solutions using Workday and related technologies.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define problem statements, evaluate business impacts, and align technology initiatives with organizational priorities.
  • Solution Design
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and identify opportunities for improvement in people, processes, and technology.

  • Assess new project and product requests for alignment with strategic goals, technical feasibility, and overall system architecture.
  • Guide build vs. buy decisions, while managing technical debt and evaluating scalability and performance trade-offs.
  • Act as a thought partner to senior leadership and mentor HRIS and business analysts, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
  • System Configuration & Process Optimization
  • Develop and oversee scalable configuration standards and frameworks aimed at driving automation and sustainability.

  • Ensure data integrity through expert configuration of business processes, calculated fields, and validations.
  • Design optimized data flows and integrate processes between Workday and internal systems for enhanced efficiency.
  • Lead the implementation of various Workday modules and customize functionality based on business needs.
  • Utilize EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio to design and develop integrations, ensuring system integrity and data accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Oversee major Workday releases, developing strategies for feature adoption and stakeholder impact analysis.

  • Continuously assess Workday platform health to maximize business value and user experience.
  • Lead the management of external resources for development and support, actively participating in ongoing maintenance of configurations and integrations.
  • Manage lifecycle documentation, version control, and change processes across all modules and integrations.
  • Governance, Security, Privacy, & Compliance
  • Implement robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive employee information.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations in collaboration with IT and legal teams.
  • Prepare Workday architecture and processes to meet compliance standards.
  • Promote governance practices that balance innovation with necessary controls across the Workday ecosystem.
  • Qualifications :

    Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years in HRIS, specifically within HCM and reporting in technical functions.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Workday configuration, including integration building.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Hands-on experience with Workday modules, including HCM, LMS, and Security Management, along with additional modules such as Payroll, Talent Management, and Benefits.
  • Experience as a solution architect on a full life-cycle implementation of Workday HCM.
  • Relevant certifications in Workday HCM and Integration.
  • Proficient in integration tools such as EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio.
  • Ability to build custom reports in Workday and People Analytics.
  • Familiarity with integrations related to HCM applications like ICIMS, ADP, and others.
  • Experience with integrations for IT applications such as Snowflake, Tableau, and Salesforce.
  • The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $200,000. Compensation decisions consider factors like experience, role responsibilities, and market data. Medallia is dedicated to equitable pay and benefits.
