About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in critical care

License : Active nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS; TNCC preferred

Must-Have :

Current CVICU experience

Experience with CRRT, Impella, and IABP

Travel experience required

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit.

The unit has a total of 16 beds, with an initial opening phase including a smaller configuration.

Patient ratios will start at 1 : 1 and transition based on patient needs.

Common patient diagnoses include critically ill patients with prior heart conditions.

Responsibilities will include invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring.

The age population served is adult and geriatric.

RNs will be expected to titrate various IV drips including Dopamine, Levophed, and Insulin.

There will be a charge nurse on the unit, primarily without patients.

A hospitalist will be available 24 / 7, while intensivists may not always be on-site.

Respiratory therapy will not be stationed in the unit but will be available as needed.

RNs will be responsible for reading telemetry strips as there are no monitor techs on-site.

The shifts are scheduled from 6 : 45 am to 7 : 15 pm or 6 : 45 pm to 7 : 15 am.

Weekend and holiday requirements will be rotational.

Floating to the ICU or step-down unit may be necessary if resources are available.

The uniform dress code requires solid color scrubs without embroidery or patterns.

Orientation will include general hospital orientation and nursing orientation shifts with a preceptor.

An Initial Skills Checklist will be provided for completion within 90 days of employment.
