Batlin Recovery Centers is looking for an addiction counselor in Missouri to provide assessments, counseling, treatment planning, and ongoing support to individuals with substance use disorders. Main duties include conducting individual and group counseling, developing and monitoring treatment plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining client records in compliance with confidentiality and ethical standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct substance use assessments and develop recovery-focused treatment plans.
Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for clients and families.
Educate clients and their families about addiction, coping strategies, and available community resources.
Document treatment progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Collaborate with medical and behavioral health staff for integrated care.
Prepare reports on client progress and program outcomes.
Exercise considerable independence while adhering to facility policies and ethical standards.
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is typical; an associate degree or a qualifying certificate may also be accepted for entry-level positions.
Completion of a minimum number of supervised practicum hours and continuing education, including ethics training, is required for certification by the Missouri Credentialing Board.
Credentialing levels include Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC), Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC), and advanced levels for those with higher education and experience.
