Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger
• Track and record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and impairments
• Monitor construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely capitalization
• Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization entries
• Manage lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842, including classification, recognition, and disclosure
• Maintain lease and rentals schedules and ensure timely updates for new, modified, or terminated leases and rentals
• Collaborate with equipment department to validate asset classifications, costs, and lease terms
• Conduct periodic physical inventory audits of fixed assets
• Equipment related invoice approvals and coding and review
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to capital expenditures and lease obligations
• Prepare audit schedules and support external audits
• Develop and improve fixed asset and lease accounting processes and controls
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or asset-heavy industries
• Strong understanding of fixed asset and lease accounting (ASC 842)
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., eCMS, OnBase, Lease Accelerator, or similar ERP systems)
• Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
