Designated Crisis Responder – On-Call
Location : Island & San Juan Counties, WA
Program : 500-11750 – Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT)
Schedule : On-Call
Wage : $42.06 - $62.19 / hr DOE

Are you ready to make a real difference when individuals and families need support the most? Join Compass Health’s Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) as a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) and provide critical, in-the-moment support to children, teens, and adults in crisis across Island and San Juan Counties.
In this on-call role, you’ll be on the front lines of behavioral health care—bringing skilled intervention, empathy, and de-escalation wherever the crisis unfolds : in homes, schools, shelters, or out in the community.
What You’ll Do
Provide in-person mental health crisis intervention and risk assessments
Make determinations for involuntary treatment when appropriate under RCW 71.05 and 71.34
Collaborate with multidisciplinary MCOT colleagues to create safety and stabilization plans
Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive care in high-stakes, real-time situations
Serve clients of all ages regardless of funding, and help them move toward recovery and connection
What You Bring
MA / MS / MSW in a Behavioral Science-related field
Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation per WAC
Familiarity with Washington DCR legal standards and procedures (RCW 71.05 / 71.34 preferred)
Must attend the DCR Academy by first annual review
Current Washington State Licensure (or ability to apply as Agency Affiliated Counselor upon hire)
Valid Washington driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance
Hepatitis B vaccination (or plan to obtain within 10 days of hire)
Ability to pass a background check
