Administrative And Supervisory Position
This is an administrative and supervisory position involving responsibility for planning and directing the activities of the sales unit staff of the City's Division of Real Estate. The employee works under the general supervision of the Director of Real Estate. Employees of this class supervise the work of professional and clerical staff. Related work is performed as required. This is a Competitive Class position. The individual selected to fill this vacancy will be given a provisional appointment and will be required to participate in the next Civil Service Examination for this title. A qualified applicant may be provisionally appointed and serve in the position until a Civil Service Examination is administered and an appropriate eligible list can be established to make a permanent appointment in accordance with the Civil Service Rule of Three. City residency will be required within one year of hire.

Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED plus : I. Bachelors degree and three (3) years of full-time paid experience selling, managing, appraising, or financing real estate; two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR II. Associates degree and five (5) years of experience as described in I. above; two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR III. Seven (7) years of experience as described in I. above, two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Possession of a NYS Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License at the time of appointment. Possession of a Certification by New York State, Department of State, Division of Licensing as a real estate appraiser (i.e., State Certified Real Estate Appraiser or State Certified General Appraiser), at time of appointment.
