This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an IT Desktop Support Specialist in the United States .

We are seeking a dedicated IT Desktop Support Specialist to provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues across the organization. The role involves responding to user requests, diagnosing technical problems, implementing solutions, and maintaining IT assets while ensuring a high level of customer service. This position offers opportunities to work on IT projects, support remote sites, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT operations. Accountabilities :

  • Provide Tier I and Tier II desktop support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues.
  • Respond to user requests, run diagnostics, isolate problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain the IT asset inventory database and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software applications.
  • Log and track IT service requests, providing follow-up and status updates to users and senior IT staff.
  • Assist other technicians and take ownership of ongoing or complex IT issues.
  • Participate in IT projects and support remote sites as needed.
  • Follow standard help desk procedures and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, MCTS, or Microsoft MCSA / MCSE / MCITP are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Help Desk practices, ticketing systems (e.g., Spiceworks), and remote troubleshooting tools (e.g., TeamViewer).
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems (7, 8, 10), VPN, Active Directory, and multi-function printers (HP, Canon, Ricoh).
  • Basic understanding of networking, Telecom, and VoIP technologies.
  • Strong customer service skills, team collaboration, and adaptability to different work styles and personalities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
