About the Role :

As a Crop Farm Manager at Cedar Ridge Dairy, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and productivity of our farmland. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the farm ground, crops and irrigation systems ensuring optimal water distribution and maximizing crop production. You will work closely with our farm management team to develop and implement crop plans. These crop plans will include irrigation plans and monitoring soil moisture levels and implement efficient watering and harvest schedules.

Key Responsibilities :

• General management of cropland and crop production.
• Operate and maintain irrigation equipment, including pumps, pipes, and sprinkler systems.
• Monitor weather forecasts and adjust irrigation schedules accordingly.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify leaks, blockages, or other issues with the irrigation system.
• Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers to optimize water usage and crop yields.
• Keep accurate records of water usage, maintenance activities, and crop performance.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices for irrigation operations.

Qualifications :

Previous experience in irrigation and crop production.

Familiarity with irrigation systems and equipment.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
