American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current NY license and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Hospital-based Operating Room settingRequires coverage of all surgical case types including general, bariatric, vascular, ENT, endoscopic, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, robotics, and urologyDay shifts : 4x10 hours (7 : 00–15 : 30)4 call shifts of 24 hours each per 13-week contractAmbulatory and General OR experience requiredMust provide care for a diverse range of patient diagnosesEPIC charting experience preferredScrubs providedExpected to participate in all types of surgical proceduresMust adhere to radiation and laser safety protocolsMust follow universal time-out procedures and strict infection control measuresBlock scheduling and more than 5 days of time off will not be accommodatedOrientation modules (approx. 4 hours) to be completed pre-startReturning travelers must not have worked at the health system within the past year\n \n Requirements\n
Active NY RN license in hand at time of considerationCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum of 3 years' OR RN experienceExperience in bariatric, vascular, ENT, endoscopic, general, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedic, plastic, podiatry, robotics, and urologic surgery requiredKnowledge of emergency management, cell saver, blood product administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol requiredMust be able to work all types of OR cases and not limited to a single specialtyEpic experience preferredFirst-time travelers accepted only with 3+ years of OR experienceCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidates previously employed at the health system must have a gap of at least one year before returning as a traveler\n Benefits\n
