This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished healthcare leader to oversee and advance a high-performing cardiovascular program within a respected regional hospital. The Director of Cardiac Services will provide strategic and operational leadership across interventional, diagnostic, and critical care environments, ensuring exceptional outcomes and service excellence. The successful candidate will guide program growth, innovation, and collaboration to strengthen the organization’s position as a leader in cardiac care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic, operational, and clinical initiatives across the Cardiac Services department, including multiple labs encompassing cardiac, interventional radiology, vascular, neuro, and biplane services.
- Oversee program development, quality improvement, and financial performance aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide indirect oversight of a 12-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) and a 39-bed cardiac step-down unit, ensuring seamless coordination of care.
- Drive adoption of new technologies, evidence-based practices, and innovation in cardiac and interventional procedures.
- Manage operational budgets, billing and coding processes, and revenue cycle performance for cardiac services.
- Partner with senior leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans with measurable outcomes.
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program; current RN licensure in the State of New York required.Master’s degree required (or in progress with completion within two years of hire).Minimum five years of progressive management experience in healthcare, including at least three years in cardiac services, critical care, or related leadership roles.Proven ability to translate organizational strategy into operational success and deliver results on time and within scope.Experience in cardiac program management, surgical or post-surgical units, and multidisciplinary service line development preferred.Knowledge of new cardiac device technologies, billing and coding practices, and revenue optimization processes required.Key Competencies & Attributes
