About The Position

Must-Have :

• Bipap, Cpap, Heated High Flow, Oxygen titration, Moderate Sedation, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical patient care

Description :

The unit comprises a medical-surgical and progressive care environment.

RNs will gain foundational critical care experience, particularly in mechanical ventilation.

Patient diagnoses may include pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, COVID-19, pulmonary embolism, and complex cases.

Skills required include oxygen therapy, intravenous medications, moderate sedation monitoring, chest tubes, tracheostomies, postoperative care, non-invasive ventilation, mechanical ventilation, and cardiac monitoring.

The diverse patient population promotes a supportive family culture.

RNs must badge in and out of the facility.

Navy blue scrubs are required.

EPIC is utilized for documentation, and Alaris pumps are used for intravenous fluids.

RNs will float to med-surg units as needed.

The unit consists of 30 medical-surgical beds, with the capacity to double depending on patient volume.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3 in progressive care and 1 : 4-5 during the day shift and 1 : 5-6 during the night shift.

Training for RNs includes competency validation on telemetry and mechanical ventilation.

The team is dedicated to ensuring patient safety and care while developing critical thinking and time management skills.

RNs will engage in committees focused on patient experience, performance improvement, leadership, clinical reasoning, research, ethics, and service excellence.

Education advancement opportunities are available through board certifications and professional development programs.
