Medical Assistant Position

The Center for Global Health and Healing is hiring for a team-oriented and compassionate part-time Medical Assistant for our clinic located in West Boise on Emerald, near the Boise Regional Medical Center!
This position will work with a busy Family Medicine Provider, but will also work with other MAs and providers as well in a care team environment. Please make sure you meet the Minimum Requirements below before applying. CNA work experience does not qualify applicants for the MA position. The Center for Global Health & Healing (CGHH) was created to meet the needs of families and individuals who have initially resettled within the community through the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement program. CGHH is comprised of the CARE Maternal / Child Health Clinic, International Clinic Family Medicine, Program for Survivors of Torture, Community Health Advisor Program, Travel Medicine, and Civil Surgeon Services.
In addition to primary MA duties, you will also conduct lab work, perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, and prep injections. You will assist with minor procedures, complete chart prep, make patient phone calls, schedule patients, answer phones when needed, and also complete tasks and orders in the task inbox. You will also work on process improvement projects. It is similar to a family medicine clinic, focused on refugee patients who are new to the area. An ideal candidate will enjoy collaborating in a team environment, is easy going, likes to learn, likes a busy clinic, and enjoys interacting with other cultures.
Work Schedule : 30 hours per week, 3 - 10 hour shifts, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays around the hours of 7 : 00am 5 : 30pm. Location : 6533 W. Emerald St. Boise, ID 83704 (near the Boise Regional Medical Center - I-184 and Curtis Road).
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire. New Graduates : 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification. Medical Assistant with Experience : 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed below. MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies :
