American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of recent OR experience, BLS certification, and a valid LA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the hospital Operating Room setting
  • Patient population includes robotics, neuro, plastics, and ortho surgical cases
  • May be required to float to other surgical specialties as needed
  • Day shifts (5x8 hours), 6 : 30am–3 : 00pm
  • Weekend work required
  • Rotating on-call responsibilities including late call until 7pm Monday-Thursday and Friday night call rotation
  • Holiday coverage required
  • Assignment length is 13 weeks
  • Completion of facility education modules required before start
  • Must minimize requests for time off during Mardi Gras (February 13–22)
  • Strict adherence to holiday and weekend staffing schedules is expected
  • Scrub or dress code details will be provided prior to start

    • Requirements

  • Active LA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Experience with robotics, neuro, plastics, and ortho surgery required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Cardiovascular OR experience preferred
  • No first-time travelers will be considered
  • Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify as travelers
  • Returning employees must have been separated from any LCMC Health facility for at least one year
