Housekeeping Evs Lead
Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, has a great opportunity for a Housekeeping Evs Lead. We are looking for hard working individuals who will be responsible for ensuring our facilities appearance is top notch. In this role, you'll be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the hospital as well as supporting leadership with training of new hires, supply management and schedules. In addition, this individual will be trained and execute the coordinating of all department activities which include answering phone lines, monitoring bed board, dispatching, logging, tracking, prioritizing, and assigning staff to ensure all requests are completed in an effective, efficient manner that enhances service levels.
Working in the Housekeeping environment can be very fast paced and very physical. This would involve a lot of walking and pushing a cleaning cart. You may be assigned to clean the morgue and / or specialty areas such as a COVID 19 Unit. You will be working with cleaning chemicals to clean up blood and or bodily fluids. You must be prepared for new challenges, have great communication with your team and medical staff. If offered the position, we do conduct a background check and drug screen. Shift Details :
Full Time / 40 hours per week
Evening : 3PM - 11 : 30PM, 5 days a week
Weekend and holiday rotations are required in this role.
Enjoy a flat rate $1 / hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable.
Position Summary
This position provides leadership and training for environmental services associates, while working as a member of the Evs Associate team.
Core Functions
1. Ensures that staffing plans are carried out properly, and that all areas of the hospital / facility are staffed appropriately.
2. Performs cleaning functions in patient rooms, specialty areas and common areas.
3. Works closely with supervisor to train and retrain, recruit, retain and develop the Environmental Services team members, fostering a culture that reflects the core values and operational polices of our department and the company.
4. May supervise staff in the absence of the Environmental Services leader. Makes work assignments and responds to immediate needs by moving staff to various areas of facility as needed. Moves furniture and sets up rooms for meetings and special functions.
5. Assists supervisor in performing Quality Assurance Inspections for review and correction of deficiencies.
6. Distributes linens and supplies as needed; takes inventories in assigned areas.
7. Works independently with general supervision. Department responsibility only. Customers include staff, patients, visitors, physicians and vendors. Oversees daily activities of a team of Environmental Services Associates. Makes staffing assignments in absence of supervisor; coordinates cleaning projects as assigned, assists with on-the-job training, provides input to performance evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires the skills, knowledge and abilities in healthcare environmental services work typically acquired over two or more years of related work experience. Must have leadership skills and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must serve as a role model to others in customer service skills, safe work practices, and infection control including hand hygiene.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic computer skills in word processing and electronic mail are preferred. Additional related education and / or experience preferred.
