Job Title : Lead Control Panel Technician Location : Bridgeville, PA Reports To : Control panel shop manager Job Type : Full-Time Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lead Control Panel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling and wiring control panels according to specifications and electrical schematics. This role requires hands-on experience with electrical systems and wiring, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. In addition to technical responsibilities, the technician will also provide guidance and support to less experienced team members to help ensure high-quality work and consistent practices. Key Responsibilities : Assemble and Wire Control Panels : Construct and wire electrical control panels in accordance with project specifications, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. Install Components : Install electrical components such as relays, switches, circuit breakers, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other devices into control panels. Quality Control : Inspect wiring and components for accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Ensure proper connections and adherence to safety codes. Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues during the assembly stages of the control panels. Collaboration : Work with engineers and project managers to ensure that control panels meet design specifications and project requirements. Mentorship : Guide and assist less experienced technicians by sharing knowledge, providing hands-on support, and reinforcing best practices to promote skill development and quality workmanship Documentation : Maintain accurate documentation of wiring configurations, components used, and modifications made during the assembly process. Safety Compliance : Follow all electrical safety standards and company policies to ensure a safe work environment. Maintain Tools and Equipment : Keep workstations, tools, and equipment organized, clean, and in good working order. Qualifications : Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or training in electrical systems or control panel wiring is preferred. Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in control panel assembly, wiring, or a related field. Skills : Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring techniques, and safety protocols. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments. Experience installing and wiring PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces). Knowledge of electrical codes and standards. Physical Requirements : Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods. Attention to Detail : Strong focus on precision and accuracy when assembling and wiring control panels.
