Our mission is to provide top-notch care, and we're on the lookout for an experienced dog walker to join our family.

Positions Available :

  • Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 7am-10am + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 8am-11am + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 9am-12pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 10am-1pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 11am-2pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 12-3pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 1-4pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 2-5pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 3-6pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 4-7pm + one weekend per month Dog Walker available for 3 hours Monday through Friday anytime between 5-8pm + one weekend per month Key Responsibilities : As a dog walker at Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting, your role is crucial in ensuring the happiness and health of the dogs under your care.

Here's what you'll be doing :

  • Weather Warrior : Be prepared to conquer all New England weather conditions, from rain and wind to sleet and snow.
  • You'll walk dogs for 15 minutes up to an hour at a time, covering up to 6 miles per day.

    • Prompt Communication :

  • Respond promptly and efficiently to all inquiries from our team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, as you'll be in direct contact with clients and our Pet Care Manager.

    • Dependable and Positive :

  • We're looking for individuals who are extremely organized, dependable, self-motivated, and, most importantly, have a positive attitude.
  • Following a schedule provided by the Pet Care Manager is essential.

    • Animal Advocate :

  • Give every pet your undivided attention and shower them with love during your assigned visit.
  • You'll also provide pick-up and drop-off services for individual dog hikes, solo on-leash neighborhood walks, and group on-leash neighborhood walks.

    • Safety First :

  • Maintain control and ensure the safety of all animals under your watch.
  • Security is paramount when visiting our clients' homes, and you'll be responsible for maintaining it.

    • Clean and Green :

  • Pick up and properly dispose of all pet waste during your visits, keeping the environment clean and safe.

    • Daily Updates :

  • After each visit, you'll provide a daily note in our scheduling app, complete with a photo to confirm services and update both the owner and Pawsitive Dawg about your visit.

    • Compensation :

  • Competitive compensation (depends on experience) paid weekly.
  • Starting pay ranges between $16-$22 / hr We pay you by the service (commission) + mileage reimbursement + cell phone stipend + 100% tips.
  • Depending on your availability and experience, this is a great way to earn supplemental income You can make extra money if you are willing to provide pet sitting services (dogs and cats) and pick up extra hours, provide overnights, or work on weekends.

  • Established dog walking / pet sitting business since 2012 A fun job where you get to be outside and paid to exercise A job where you get to work with animals and their owners on a daily basis A job where you get to work independently Flexible scheduling to suit your lifestyle Our in-depth 3-4 week training program, called "Pawsitive Growth," and Fear Free certification course A supportive 12 month mentorship program, called "Guided Growth," for personal and professional development A nurturing team that values teamwork and pet welfare Ability to grow and build a full time career in the pet care industry Direct deposit Simple IRA (2% non-elective Employer contribution even if you do not contribute) if you work at least 10 hours a week Paid Sick Time Paid Time Off after 12 months of employment Cell Phone Stipend Mileage Reimbursement Full bonding and liability insurance Requirements : A genuine love for dogs a commitment to their care Strong organizational and communication skills Physical strength to handle carious dog breeds and sizes Observant, gentle, and patient when working with and walking dogs Eagerness to learn and grow within the pet care industry Must have a smart phone with the ability to text as well as download and use our scheduling software Must have a car with valid driver's license and automobile insurance We assign dog walks within 5 miles of our staff's home so employees must live within 15 minutes of our service area (Waltham, Belmont, Watertown, Newton, Lexington, Lincoln, or Weston) 4 relevant references (3 professional and 1 personal) Dog walking staff must commit to always being available for last minute walks (unless sick or previously requested off) during their agreed upon hours Occasional evening hours or weekends for client interviews may be necessary Clean criminal background and clean driving records (criminal / background check required) If you're a dog enthusiast who meets these qualifications and shares our passion for compassionate pet care, we'd love to have you join our Pawsitive team.
