Summary:

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff. The role of Senior Clinical Nurse Educator serves all aspects of nursing in the clinical setting: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.

Responsibilities:

Serves as consultant/mentor/change agent to staff, clinical leaders, and others.Leads committee, work groups and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities.Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance.May be assigned to take a patient load as needed.Conducts or contributes to nursing research.Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools.Assists with developing specific departmental goal, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.Disseminates research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement findings through activities such as presentations, publications, and consultation.Synthesizes evaluation data to guide decision-making about educational programming.Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).

Additional Job Information:

Required Work Experience: Three (3) years nursing experience. Candidates for Clinical Nurse Educator RN Fellowship positions may apply after completion of two (2) years' nursing experience.
