Talent Consultants is seeking a highly motivated Associate Patent Attorney to join our innovative intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will have experience in patent prosecution, a strong technical background, and a keen interest in supporting clients through the patent application process and beyond. As an Associate Patent Attorney, you will work closely with inventors and technical teams to draft, file, and prosecute patent applications while also managing due diligence and providing strategic IP advice. Responsibilities
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications in various technology fields.
- Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
- Draft responses to office actions and appeal proceedings.
- Work with clients in a variety of industries to understand their inventions and IP needs.
- Conduct interviews with patent examiners and negotiate office actions and rejections.
- Support clients in strategic decisions related to IP portfolio management and patent litigation.
- Stay updated on changes in patent law, regulations, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on joint projects and training sessions.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active attorney license in the state of practice.Admission to practice in the jurisdiction of intended office.Technical background in engineering, computer science, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related field.Undergraduate degree in Electrical / Computer / Software Engineering, CS or Physics.3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution and IP law.USPTO registration required.Strong understanding of patent laws and regulations.Excellent writing and communication skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.Experience with patent litigation is a plus but not required.Membership in relevant professional organizations is preferred.Benefits
