Position Summary

Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing workplace health and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role promotes a culture of safety by conducting risk assessments, providing employee training, investigating incidents, and implementing corrective and preventive measures to reduce hazards and improve overall safety performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and local standards.
• Plan and conduct monthly safety meetings, new-hire safety onboarding, and required safety training programs such as GHS.
• Perform regular facility inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Investigate and document all accidents, incidents, and near misses; recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze safety performance data and trends to proactively reduce workplace risks.
• Lead safety education initiatives to train employees on hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with management and staff to foster a strong safety culture across all departments.
• Develop and coordinate emergency response procedures, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first-aid readiness.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, insurance representatives, and external inspectors.
• Schedule and oversee contractor activities for periodic inspections, testing, and maintenance of safety systems.
